Once you have completed your LASIK procedure, it is important that your surgeon is able to follow your healing progress. This will help to ensure optimal post-op results as well as help to ensure the risk of complications remain as low as possible. It is important that you are keeping your follow-up appointments and sticking to your self-care guidelines.
Schedule
Day 1: Your surgeon needs to ensure that there is no evidence of infection and that the corneal flaps are healing properly.
1-3 Weeks: Check on the healing progress.
3-6 Months: Assessing your visual progress and checking to see if an enhancement is needed.
12 Months: Measuring the stability of your results and a checking on your eye pressure. They will also assess your general eye health.
Many patients are surprised at the rate in which they heal after their surgery. Regardless, it remains extremely important that you continue to follow up with your surgeon on your scheduled post-op appointments, as well as you annual eye exams.

i had my surgery in Oct 2008, and did follow-up till one year. Then i never had any eye check ups. Should I schedule with TLC for annual eye check-up or regular eye doctors?
